Flausch

Flausch (which means "fleece" in German) is a beautiful, active, one-year-old female angora rabbit. She loves to be petted and snuggled. HRR decided Flausch needed to go to a foster home and now she has gotten very used to the "House Bunny" lifestyle. She currently lives inside and has a large 4 x 3 ft pen, has supervised playtime around the house every day, and looks forward to lettuce, carrots, and other greens every night. She likes to stand up on her hind feet to beg for a forehead rub or a treat (her favorite are yogurt drops), and because she is so cute she usually gets what she wants. Flausch is friendly with the resident Pomeranian puppy, but is scared of the vacuum cleaner and the dishwasher. She is litter box trained and has no problem hopping on carpet, wood, or tile floors. Flausch really needs a permanent home that can offer her all the luxuries of life she has gotten used to. She also needs someone to brush her every day. Since she is an angora she has wool instead of hair, this is what makes her so soft and downy, but it can grow very long and tangles very easily. When she is kept trimmed short, like she is now, she is fairly low maintenance and brushing her only takes about 10 minutes a day. She needs someone who loves her enough to keep her trimmed short and brushed out so she stays as cute and fuzzy as she is now. She loves people of all sizes, so she could be happy in any home. She is very curious and very loving, which means she needs lots of affection and attention, and she gives all of your love back tenfold. If we were asked to present the cutest bunny couple award Harry and Natalia would have to be one of the couples at the top of our list! Harry is way cute, both in his appearance and his personality. He's a friendly guy who likes being petted on. Being a polite bunny he is tolerant of being picked up, even though he doesn't approve. And we always laugh when he thumps that back foot at us when we return him back to his cage. His lady, Natalia, is an eager and delightful soul. She rushes to the cage door whenever we approach. In fact she rushes everything! She loved Harry at first sight. He loves her too, but his love for her needed time to grow. Their personalities are quite different but they enjoy the same things - playing, exploring, and snuggling. Harry is the quiet, 'let's think about this first' kind of guy. Natalia is the bouncy, "HEY! I'll race you to the food dish!" kind of girl. And she does get there first, leaving Harry to scramble if he wants to grab his favorite treat before she does!

Houdini is a sort of magician, just as his name implies. He's here one minute and gone the next, off to the next adventure. He's quite the escape artist and quite talented getting into places that pique his interest as well! Nester’s personality is an interesting mixture of shy and bold. She can be peeking from a patch of tall grass in the corner of the play yard one minute and running and jumping across the yard the next. Nose to nose, she might chat for a moment with another bunny in the play yard, but doesn’t stay long. She will sit contentedly for pets and may even dose off while we stroke her forehead. Being one who loves to play under things, she is often found within her blanket, bunching it up and smoothing it out again. The bobbing up and down lump under her blanket is a familiar sight around here. She is adventurous and imaginative and takes delight in tricking us when playtime is over and it's time to go back to her cage. Ophelia was found running loose on the streets before coming to Heartland. Having come through hard times, she's very street savvy yet still playful and social. One skill she may have perfected for survival on the streets is jumping. She's fantastic! And she likes to show off her almost gymnast quality jumps. She prances and bounds in time to an inner rhythm with perfect posture, grace and style. She does it with joy and it is certainly a joy to watch her.

Despite being on her own and fighting for survival, Ophelia is trusting of her human caretakers and is a delight. This girl has pizzazz, likes excitement, and wants to be in the middle of the fun. She's made quite the impression on the humans and rabbits here and she'll wiggle her way into your affections before you've realized it's happened.

Tavey has a wonderfully outgoing personality and is just teeming with a zest for life. She loves attention and rushes up to visitors looking to be petted. Every bit as enjoyable to her as running is getting pets, which is about the only thing that will slow her down. Pausing for pets, she turns into a true "pancake bunny" and enjoys the loving. The unmistakable look of bunny bliss on her face says: Life is good.

Willow came to Heartland from an animal shelter. Rarely are we given a history on bunnies from the shelters and she was no exception. However, she IS exceptional…exceptionally sweet and flirty! The term gentle giant fits her well. She is part Dutch, evident in her playfulness and the cleverness and part New Zealand, giving her a gentle nature. She is quite beautiful with alluring eyes, one blue and the other brownish blue. She uses these beautiful eyes to her advantage, mastering "the look" that will send you searching for her favorite treat.
